As I sit down to reflect on my childhood, one particular memory stands out vividly in my mind—the "PREWAR ROCKET REPLICA SLIDE" (Please refer to the illustration below) that once graced the playground of Guagua Central Elementary School. This school holds a special place in the history of Guagua, Pampanga, having been established in 1901 as the First Town School. Although I did not attend this school, my weekends were often spent at its playground, where laughter and joy filled the air.   The illustration simply shows/captures the moment when the rocket replica was installed atop the playground slide, a cherished memory from my childhood.
